Feedback after interview

Hi guys. I had an interview with a mutual fund for an equity research role. During the interview, they asked me to describe my research process with a stock. I asked them first should I talk briefly or in details. Then based on their requirements, I tried not to talk too much. I mentioned some data related with the company's operations and also the market data. I thought I did a good job. It turned out they felt like I talked a bit more than listened and having a conversation, and also they felt I shared too much data on them to try and impress them with my knowledge.

I thought I answered their questions concisely. Basically they asked, I answered. Would you please give me some advice to help improve my interview skills?

  1. How to demonstrate that I am a good listener?

  2. How to make the interview more conversational?

  3. Should I avoid using data when describing equity research process? Usually how long does it take to answer this question?

Thank you.
