Feeling underprepared for full-time research role
Hi everyone,
I accepted a role at a boutique AM that focuses only on corporate high yield debt as a research associate. I was surprised at how high-level the technical aspects of the interview process were, as this firm is small enough where they don't have a formal training process as they don't hire every year, so most of my training will be from the job itself. Coming from a liberal arts school, I'm a little anxious now that I've shifted my focus towards starting, that I will be behind the eight ball and am underprepared stepping into this role. I was wondering if anyone had some advice who has been in a similar situation or is generally from research side, or any advice or resources to better prepare myself beyond the typical study/technical guides. Now that school is virtual and I still have around 3 months before I am supposed to start, I want to take advantage of all the newfound time I have at home. Thanks
