HELP: Performance Analyst or Stay at Boutique RIA as an Investment Analyst?
Been working at a boutique wealth management shop as an investment analyst for about 2 years. I have a lot of automony in this role but the scope of learning is a bit limited given there is only the CIO and myself.
Got offered an opportunity as a performance analyst from an institutional manager (think T. Rowe, PIMCO, TCW, Cap Group). What do you guys think of a move to a bigger firm if compensation is not a problem?
My boss thinks its an absolute mistake at this point in my career. My end goal is multi-asset portfolio construction (either retail or institutional).
Curious if you'd go for a role like this and why. Im also only 24 so feel like if im going to make a move, now is better than later.
