Interview with IM ~$25 billion AUM

Hello,

I have not interviewed for the last five years, have been working for a small fund right out of bschool.
Have secured an interview with a large value shop, will be having three interviews, one hour each, each comprised of different members of the team.

Does anyone know what to expect? I know all shops will conduct things differently. I had my first interview with the President already.

Thank you in advance.

I would expect general market based questions, as well as stock pitches. You can gauge the style of the interviews since you met with the president. Read up on finance news and be prepared to talk about the market, your previous work, and why this shop.

For the lead! Sipag, tiyaga, at lakas ng loob!

if you're at a HF now and moving to AM you better have an answer prepared for why you're making the switch, even though you're still looking at investments the philosophies may be completely different. Also have 2~3 pitches ready to go.

this may seem obvious, but look at their latest reporting to be sure you're not pitching them a stock they're already long or short, they probably have a better handle on it than you and you don't want to look stupid. don't pitch something that's irrelevant (like a singaporean miner to a us large value fund), but don't pitch JNJ, BIIB, or AMGN (top holdings) if you're interviewing for the Janus Life Sciences Fund, naamean?
