Investment Grade Bonds analyst exit opps

Hi Monkeys, I can't tell you guys how much I've learned from everyone. I wanted to reach out to see if anyone could prove some suggestion on my career path choice.

My background is a postgraduate in HK and now receives one offer from leading insurance-background asset management company, fixed income research analyst. Since it's insurance money, my job is to focus on Investment Grade (IG) bonds, mainly in Europe, and in Financial and Banking sectors.

I'm always interested in the Fixed Income product, and I'd like to keep on this career path in the future, whether bonds, FX, rates, etc. But I'm wondering the exit opps of an Investment Grade Bonds analyst. I thought there is not much to analyze and much lower risk involved since the bonds are already investment grade, and perhaps not much training could be gained? And how about the year-end bonus? Could High Yield bond analyst be much better?

My question may sound naive to you guys.....(forgive me for it), so I wanted to reach out to see if any good samaritans in the FI space, especially IG investment or research field, would be willing to help.

Any ideas/thoughts would be really welcomed and appreciated.
