Looking for Advice for Summer 2021 Internships

Hey guys, I am brand new to this site and looking for advice for Summer 2021 internships. I am a Junior student from a non-target school (Finance major) with a ~3.6 GPA. Covid messed up my opportunity for a reputable finance internship last summer so I don't have impressive work experience. I have had business internships but I would say they aren't ideal in the eyes of a finance recruiter.

I look to improve my GPA but I am trying to remain realistic in terms of my entry into Finance. For this reason, I've pretty much ruled out IB internships as well as other super competitive ones. Obviously, it's pretty late into the recruiting cycle so I wanted to ask you all whether you have any advice for paths I could take at this point. More specifically, are there any firms in the AM area and beyond I should target that I could break into given my situation? I realize networking and persistence is a massive part of gaining offers (and I have been networking) but I wanted to gain some advice/insight so I could be as intentional as possible when searching for opportunities.
