MBA to IM/buy side in different market
Questions for all IM or buy side professionals who went to b-school with the goal of landing a gig in a different market:

Did you find job opportunities limited since you were planning to move to a different market after graduation?

How did this affect the way you developed your network? Did recruiting become more difficult?

Any reliable salary data on MBA grads working in IM in your market? Schools usually report salary data for location or industry, but not location and industry.
My goal: land AM role in Boston directly after graduation.
T15 schools report salaries between $130k-$150k for 1st year grads in IM, but I have no idea how much this is inflated by NYC/SF/other big market data. Would love to hear from any IMs in the Northeast who recruited from a different market. Cheers!
