The role description on the website is as follows:

• The Investment Management Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week program consisting of one week of training and nine weeks working within a specific IM team.
• Across all IM teams, the curriculum is designed to equip Summer Analysts with the fundamental skills they need to be successful in IM.
• During the 10-week program, Summer Analysts experience the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley by performing a role similar to a Full-Time Analyst.
• The Office of COO business analyst role offers exposure to a central, multi-faceted business support team that interfaces across public side investment teams and functional support groups

YOU WILL 

• Assist in supporting the Public Markets business across a broad range of investment strategies and products
• Contribute to the oversight of the business through analysis and monitoring of applicable business metrics
• Analyze business processes to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and /or effectiveness
• Investigate and resolve investment team issues and challenges
• Partner with business colleagues on special projects and initiatives
• Conduct competitive research
