I have seen people say it is both. Can anyone confirm which one it actually is?
I think it depends on the legacy firm
It does: for the smith barney guys you can use [email protected] (sometimes it is first.middle initial.last) or @morganstanleysmithbarney you should be able to use the latter for anyone.
What do you mean it depends on the legacy firm? If I use @morganstanleysmithbarney I will be good though? Thanks.
Legacy firm means whichever firm the person worked at pre-merger between Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney.
For example, if Joe Advisor worked at Smith Barney starting in 2005, then Joe Advisor's legacy firm is Smith Barney and his e-mail address will liley follow the Smith Barney format.
So try the Smith Barney e-mail format and if it bounces back, try the MSSB format.
thanks a lot everyone
