Need some help (illness)

I have a problem and need some help.

Short story: Girlfriend (ex) is sick, perhaps terminally (50-50). She has equity in her house (owes $160k on a house worth $350k) but the house needs a little work (20k)

She isn't working and can't now. She is broke and the mortgage is due soon. She needs money for short term and a strategy in case she survives.

She said the bank won't give her money because she isn't working but I did not hear the conversation so I don't know. She is somewhat impaired by the illness.

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

Ben

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
