What the hell? One is risk and the other is quant strats? Is this even worth talking about... not to mention the names of the two firms.

Subjective or not, you could more easily transition from the GS position to the SS position than vice versa. That's my logic anyways, regardless of the name. If you were doing risk at GS and quant strats at SS, I'd say take SS position.
