Asset Management Mock Interview

“MarKus was great today and extremely helpful in preparing me for my HireVue tomorrow. He gave me really useful insight into the types of questions I may face, how to approach them, and how to structure my answers in a clear and convincing way. He also helped me understand what I should focus on to give myself the best chance of performing well. I genuinely feel that preparing for something like this completely on your own would be much more difficult, so I really appreciate the time and effort he put into helping me. He was also very kind, knowledgeable, approachable, and willing to answer all my questions. Overall, it was a 10/10 session for me.”

Asset Management Mock Interview

“Markus was extremely helpful throughout the session. He came prepared with the questions that have recently appeared in BlackRock’s European video interviews and explained what each question was actually assessing. Rather than giving only general advice, he listened carefully to my answers, identified where my framing could create the wrong impression, and demonstrated how to restructure them. His feedback on “Why Global Trading” was particularly valuable because he helped me present trading as a genuine interest in execution, liquidity and market impact, rather than simply an area I had not experienced before. He also distinguished professional motivation from personal drive and identified which answers needed the most work. His direct but encouraging approach made the session practical, personalised and immediately useful. I left with clear priorities, specific improvements to make and a much better understanding of how to prepare for my first HireVue interview.”

Here's what I know from my family who live in Laguna.

Great beaches, fun towns
Need either a car or to live right on a bus line/biking or walking distance (very expensive, like NYC expensive)
I've heard PIMCO has a very early start to the day since US markets open 6:30 AM PST. Not sure if that translates to leaving early though
Very very good weather and good food

If I may ask, did you get an invite to do the interview for portfolio analyst? I ask because I applied and haven't heard back yet.

Interns all have very regulated work hours, so you're not allowed to work more than 40 hours a week, and mandatory 1 hour lunch. All of which once you become full time that hour lunch will go away and your weekly hours will prob rise by 10-20 hours at least. Expect to start at 5:30am PST.
