Quant Finance Masters Non Target

I'm a 24 year-old, a little less than 2 years out of school, I did 6 months in management consulting and moved into an operations job at a boutique hedge fund for the last 16 months. I'm taking Level 3 of the CFA in December, and have some coding skills. I'm looking to move out of operations as soon as possible, and given the hiring freeze due to COVID I've been researching all available avenues to continue making progress on a transition out of the back office. I could return to my Alma Mater, which is a top 40 school in the country but not a target school for finance, and do a MSF in Quantitative Finance which would end August 2021. That way, I would be applying for higher level jobs after COVID has blown over, I'd have the CFA finished, and have a masters and firm quant qualifications. If I were to try and do a quant masters at a more established quant finance program I would likely have to wait until next year to start, as I haven't taken the GMAT yet and many deadlines have already passed, and it would also cost far more than returning to the alma mater. My question is would a quant finance masters actually add significant marketability if it isn't from a target school, or would it be a complete waste of money and time? I've included the syllabus below to give an idea of the skills I would theoretically build:

Requirements: Investment Analysis Corporate Finance Fundamentals of Financial Math and Financial Markets Data Analytics in Finance Empirical Methods in Finance Derivatives and Risk Analysis

Really appreciate any help with this specifically or general tips for moving into a higher-level/more front office role during these times.
