Real Estate Portfolio Managers
What are the responsibilities and day-to-day like for a portfolio manager/investment analyst at an asset manager like Invesco, PGIM, Principal, etc focused on real estate? Familiar with the acquisitions side that is underwriting JV deals with GPs and trying to deploy the capital. Imagine the portfolio mgmt side is doing more than just underwriting the same deals with another layer of hair cuts.
Also, how is performance evaluated? Entirely focused around beating your benchmark quarter-to-quarter? Or are there places that are absolute return focused/have more of an open mandate?
Interested as I’m considering off-ramps from being on the GP side. Background is in finance.
