Stocks volatility - What factors make stocks more volatile?
Hi folks, anyone can tell me please why stocks like LVS (Las Vegas Sands), HAL (Halliburton), and X (US Steel) are the most volatile, I am talking about daily periods, the C (the Citigroup) for instance was not suitable for daytrading, however after making a reverse split 1 to 10, it had become the 4th most volatile stock in the S&P500. What are the factors that make a stock more volatile than another?
Headlines?
Combination of things, top of my head: 1. Liquidity (How many shares are available) 2. Top names in the sector tend to trade more 3. HFT
well Bank of America is the top US bank by assets, yet with low daily volatility
I guess that this question can't be answered by someone who did not do any daytrading
