Thoughts on Pay Structure

I'm currently at a national financial services firm and I get paid on whatever I sell. I keep like 78% of what I earn before paying staff, overhead, rent, etc.

This makes things generally unpredictable and quite stressful as I'm still young and don't have much of a book.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience at an RIA where you have a more traditional base + bonus structure and if you like it?

The structure I have now would be nice to if my book grows and if I buy out another book, but right now it sucks. I'm missing the predictability of a steady paycheck.
