Wellington Management- Business Associate (Rep, salary, exit opps?)

Can anyone tell me more about the 'Business associate' program w/ Wellington Management?

"Full-time, three-year opportunity for graduating Bachelor's students who are interested in a variety of career opportunities available in the investment management industry. This program will help you gain insight into our industry, firm, and culture. Responsibilities: • Work closely with our investment and client teams to develop and support investment products • Assisting in the completion of reports for clients. • Collaborate with senior members of the team to perform analytical work supporting the management and oversight of investment strategies. • Support the sales and marketing efforts of the broader organization. • Contribute to investor relations efforts of the team responsible for building relationships with and responding to inquiries from our more than 1,000 clients."

From what I understand they're well respected, but the specific program doesn't involve any direct investing and (might?) shoehorn you into a career in the 'business' (BO/MO) side of investing. Interested in whether it's possible to go from something like this to research or more general FO positions. Also as an aside, any idea of what the total comp and working hours are like?

Specifically looking at the alternatives team (WAI) if that makes any difference.

Thanks
