What exactly is this job? Does it lead to portfolio management?

Hi, I have been exploring roles in the buy side. I kind of wanted to know what the following role is about... This is not a typical equity research nor is it typical FI research, so what exactly is this role about? I am curious because it actually seems interesting and up my alley but I don't know if it would lead to a more senior transparent role in the buy side.

Thanks

Sounds like a more quantitative take on a standard Client Services role, and probably where many of these roles are headed. Looks like a newer type of role, so I don't think there's a solid answer on what 'exit opps' would be per se; it would depend largely on how much focus you put into different parts of the role. Assuming you frame it well, I'm assuming you could lateral to research if you're interested, or alternatively, head into sales. Highly unlikely that this could lead directly to PM.

Hmm. Thats a bummer... I saw a few PMs that after MBA worked in this role or the same team atleast... co I was kind of hopeful
