What is Asset Management - Distribution?
I'm applying for an internship through a referral and the title is "Asset Management Summer Analyst - Distribution." Can anyone please explain to me what this means? Is it the same as wealth management? I'm a first year undergrad so I'm pretty new to this. If I were asked in an interview "why this role?" what would I say? Thanks for the help guys.
I think it's more like institutional sales & distribution. So simply it's the sales role in AM.
So what would my day-to-day tasks be in a job like this? The company gives a very general description so I can’t tell.
Shiyi-Li is correct. Distribution is simply sales. Depends if you’ll be focused on retail (more selling firm products to FAs and their clients), HNW/UHNW (where you’ll be selling the firm’s products to people with 5m+ of investable assets) or institutional (pretty self-explanatory).
The job is 100% sales, you are pushing the firms product anyway you can.
