When does your vacation start?
Hi AM monkeys:
I was wondering if you can tell me when does your Christmas vacation start this year? I'm an undergrad who's trying to go in for an interview--the HR asked me what is the best time, and I want to make sure that I go in before people started to leave for vacations.

people are typically off from the 23rd to around the 2nd or 3rd. Schedule something the week before it - work's pretty light during that time.
If the time you schedule is a problem, they would let you know.
is it frowned upon if you take advantage of all your vacation days during your first year with a company? I mean they don't carry over year to year but taking 3 weeks off seem excessive no?
ask around, it varies hugely from company to company. Some places expect you to take it off because they understand you're a human and need time off in order to perform your work optimally. Others see holidays as a sign of weakness and lack of commitment to the job.
