I am based in Zurich, Switzerland and a fund I will be joining here is looking to hire another analyst. They are looking for someone with 3-5 years experience. They care far more about the investment philosophy and thinking of the person than their technical skills, although you still have to have the basic skills one would expect (financial analysis, excel skills, etc.) and they would prefer someone who is a CFA charter holder. Unfortunately, you MUST hold an EU or Swiss passport or have the right to work in the EU or Switzerland (this point is non-negotiable). German is not a requirement, but English is a must.
The fund manages EUR 2 bn and follows a Ben Graham approach focusing on identifying earnings power valuation and looking for companies with a strong economic moat. The approach is similar to what Bruce Greenwald teaches at Colombia.
