3.3 Semi Target, MBB Consulting Aspirations Cooked?

Ended first semester as a transfer with a 3.3

Pretty broad and vague post, but I have 5 semesters left. Are my chances at MBB “fractured”? What is a target GPA I should be chasing.

Additionally, are there any past stories of raising GPA? Would love the motivation

Can't comment on your chances at MBB.

I can share my GPA-raising grind to help motivate you, though. I did not cook freshman year and ended with a 3.16 at LAC with pretty hard grading, plus me being stupid and having a bad work ethic (econ/math combo, so that shit would not fly).

Starting cooking sophomore year and ended the year with a 3.7 getting all A's, A-'s, and 1 B. Doing pretty well this semester, too (1st sem junior), and I will likely finish with a 3.75 or 3.83 and bring my GPA up to a 3.5.

Obviously, I couldn't recruit for IB or MBB with a shitter GPA, but I ended up securing a pretty nice FP&A internship for summer 2025.

If you're set on MBB, get your GPA to a minimum of 3.5 by next semester to meet the minimum cut-off (it won't help you, but it will at least not automatically disqualify you). Good luck!
