3.5 GPA: Do I even have a chance?
I am an incoming Junior at a semi-target public state university in the US. I have been mainly focusing on IB summer analyst recruiting this year and managed to receive an offer for next summer.
I am also interested in exploring FT/SA recruiting for MBB consulting roles (in case I dislike IB & keep options open) but realized my GPA might be too low for me to even be considered as a candidate.
Is a 3.5 GPA (Finance major) viable and do I even have a chance with consulting recruiting processes or should I just focus on IB? Is it possible to recruit for FT MBB roles after my junior summer (next year) doing investment banking? Would that be a positive look for recruiters then or do I basically not really have a shot?
I have not done too much networking with MBB alum as I have mainly been focused on IB stuff. Would networking help?
Appreciate the insights - thanks

Just prepare to network your ass off. I got a BCG r1 with a 3.38, and this cycle have gotten strong positive feedback (unofficial resume requests, assigned AC casing partner) for both Bain and BCG with a 3.53 (T20 semi-target, regional office). From what I understand, 3.5 is the soft cutoff for GPA, so you're not even in the red zone.
