This may just be me, but I stopped putting addresses on CLs years ago. All CLs are sent directly via application package upload, not physically mailed, and it leaves more whitespace or room for content. I also save time in having to search for the office location physical address, floor number and postal code without even knowing who's reading it (centrally read, read by that office or another office preference). In my opinion, remove physical addresses from CLs.

As for customizing the CL, I speak on publicly disclosed contracts/work the firm has done, their insights/research into sectors I'm interested in or people I've spoken to. It's a better demonstration of interest than aligning the physical address to one of their many offices.

Anyone may feel free to argue/counter.

Thanks, I was assuming no address makes sense in the digital world lol but every cover letter example I saw online included one, so didn’t want to exclude if it was still considered relevant

I would take those cover letters with a grain of salt. Many of them are old or outdated formats of the former norm. I'd say up until early 2000s, the majority of the CLs I saw had physical addresses, I had them on my CLs too since I  used those as references at the time. After the switch, I saw no difference in the perception of the CL quality, and it saved time/headaches in getting postal codes and addresses right, so I just continued.
