Not necessarily a problem. In my McK summer class, there were JD and dual degree students, most of whom were splitting their summers with top law firms (think 10 top big law). So doing one doesn't preclude the other... but be aware these were all people with decent prior work experience who were also competitive with top law firms.
Also interested, was just about to post something about management consulting from law school, if you don't mind Genichi, can you post your law school admissions stats (UG GPA and LSAT)?
Edit: Just read all the other posts, I would include Cornell as a "top" law school because of the T14 designation (still don't get why it's T14 not T10). But regardless definitely a top law school.
To FarFromHome were these people just doing 6 weeks at McK and 6 weeks at the law firm?
Interesting posts everyone

Manufacturing to Consulting without MBA ! Possible ? (Originally Posted: 09/14/2013)
I currently work as an Engineer in manufacturing plant for one of the countries largest Automobile Companies. I am extremely fond on Finance too. I am currently Preparing to get my CFA Level 2 June next year. I got my bachelors from a school in India and Majored in Electrical Engineering. I have around 1 year experience at my current job and I will probably have a total of 20 months of experience by the time I start applying for a job in any of the Big 4 consulting firms. Is it even remotely possible ? Does the Manufacturing knowledge help ? Does having the CFA prove smartness ? If by chance I am able to get a 1st round of interview, do I have a remote shot of being chosen for an entry level position considering my experience in Manufacturing, CFA Level 2 and non target school 3.5+ GPA ?
I would stay in the auto industry and apply for mba if you want to make it over to consulting. You could get into a top 15 depending on gmat and then possibly transition to mbb with a high chance of deloitte and other big 4.
Thanks hopeful. Will keep your advice in mind . Why do you say Deloitte is a higher chance ? Is it because it might be easier to get In or any other reason ?
I read this in your accent.
Why don't you read it your accent ? Maybe then you won't sound like the retarded dog you are.
Hahahahaha,
I had to SB this, I couldn't stop laughing about it.
Well you still sound the same !
Well, that went downhill quickly. Thanks for the quick laugh.
