Does anyone have any experience with these? I was recently invited to one and was wondering if it was worth pursuing (I am aspiring towards a career in MGMT Consulting or IBD). If anyone could share any insights in these programs or what to expect, I would be very grateful for the advice.

I did one for a smaller acctg firm several years ago. If I recall, they are only a few days long and targeted to underclassmen. I would recommend it; if nothing else it's valuable experience interacting with professionals-- something I certainly didn't have as a sophomore in college.
It will mostly be a brainwashing session where they tell you how amazing they are. It's a good chance to network and meet professionals though, especially as an underclassman. There's no negatives of going, and many of these lead to internship positions which then transfer into full time hire positions. If you are planning on going Big 4, this is an amazing opportunity. You mentioned Big 4 isn't your goal, so you may not care about getting a FT position in their firm, but free food and free stuff is never a bad thing.

@schuoh It is a regional leadership program in the city. I'm not sure how much a local program helps my prospects for a Big 4 internship for next summer, as it is less selective than national programs. But as you said, three free nights at a nice hotel in a great city certainly doesn't hurt.
I am actually interested in the advisory practices in the Big 4, but do not know enough about them to speak about it intelligently.
Think about it this way, if they are willing to spend money on you (especially 3 nights at a hotel), they are already investing in you and are spending money on you. Might as well try your best and go all out there and see what comes of it. If they spend all this money on people and then reject them all, they are just throwing money away, and accountants are not typically not known for their splurging habits. Big 4 advisory is a pretty vague term. It covers almost any and all sorts of consulting, including IT, project management and implementation, management consulting... etc. If you already have a foot in the door, you can try to position yourself early and try to get into advisory that way. It happens but it is definitely much rarer than simply getting a audit/tax position out of undergrad.
