Difference in exits between L1 and L2?

If you’re at MBB, you get a significant title and comp bump from Y2 to Y3 when you get promoted from ACI/A/BA to AC/C. Provided you get that far, is there also a significant bump in the title/comp of exit opportunities available? Or does it not really matter all that much and you have to wait until you hit manager/PL to really experience it.

I’m at a T2 but get pretty frequent corporate / PE recruiter outreach. Big bump in outreach frequency actually occurred after 2 years (so from BA to Sr. BA) - my guess is the first promotion is the big signal that you’re doing ok in the job. The second promo at 2.5-3 years hasnt changed the rate of outreach at all.

The promo is more of a signal (and a good comp negotiation lever). Because you have a higher comp, companies will need to offer you more to lure you in. Unfortunately, because the recruiter doesn't know you, they rely on 'signals' on your resume to get a sense of who you are. Here is what a recruiter might think when seeing a resume with the following tenures. Obviously this is a generalization, and how you tell the story is more important:

Less than 1 year tenure: 'what happened that he's looking so soon? Is he going to leave my company after 1 year?'

1 - 2 year tenure: 'he tried it, he wasn't awful at the job, but must not have liked it or wasn't a great performer'

2+ years with promo: 'he has the consulting toolkit and was a solid-strong performer'
