Exit Opps for a Litigation Consultant/ Econ PhD/MBA
I am an ex-litigation consultant from one of the big shops trying to figure out what to do next. I have a Ph.D. in Econ and an MBA from a target school (also target undergrad). I am not interested in teaching or government-type jobs. I plowed through school pretty quickly, so I am not much older than newly-minted MBAs (though I am hoping to come up with job ideas that would allow me to capitalize on my years of experience). Anyone know of any private-sector opportunities that fit the bill?

I don't understand your order... did you do econ consulting and then get MBA/Ph.D? Or have you been recently working in litigation? If you're just coming out of bschool I would think you'd have this pretty well nailed down by now.
college --> b-school --> ph.d --> litigation consulting (for what seems like an eternity) --> ???
Hmm. That's tougher then. Business school is really the best transition, otherwise you can get locked into econ consulting. The good news is it sounds like you have the credentials to become an expert, so that's a pretty good life if you can get it. Other options might be any valuation shop, corporate finance for a big company, equity research if you're passionate about investing (difficult), or strategy consulting (MBB, also difficult). People on the IP damages side also occasionally make the hop to VC.
