Follow up with contacts after accepting a different offer?

Hi all - just a networking/etiquette question.

Throughout the recruiting process, I made lots and lots of connections at various firms. I ultimately interviewed with 5 firms and kept in touch with multiple people from those firms throughout the respective recruiting processes. Some even connected me to recruiters when I had questions or forwarded my resume to their HR contacts. However, for those contacts at firms that I didn't end up accepting offers with, would it be appropriate to send them an email thanking them for all their support while letting them know I've accepted another offer? Thanks.

Hey biomajor16, I swear if I had a silver banana for every lonely thread I posted too I'd be richer than @compbanker ...
