Full Time Consulting for 2025 Grads

This might be dumb, but when does full-time recruiting for big four and boutique strategy consulting begin for the Class of 2025, and when are those deadlines usually?

I am currently at a PE firm in my junior summer trying to recruit for full-time consulting (odd situation, ik), but I have no idea how this stuff works, and I cannot find where to look. The MBB deadlines and process is well published and clear, but I only found things that say 'rolling' for any other strategy consulting firm.

Is it just very early in the process?

(And if anyone has advice for how to get a full time role out of undergrad without any prior consulting experience, I would really appreciate it -- I cannot tell if this is a lost cause).

Thanks.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know about full-time consulting recruiting for the Class of 2025:

Timeline and Deadlines:

  1. MBB Firms (McKinsey, BCG, Bain):

    • Earlier Deadlines: MBB firms have started to open up earlier deadlines in July for full-time applicants, especially for those with "exploding offers" or who feel ready to enter the process.
    • Traditional Deadlines: They also maintain their traditional September deadlines.
  2. Other Strategy Consulting Firms:

    • Rolling Basis: Many other strategy consulting firms, including boutique firms, often have rolling deadlines. This means they accept applications throughout the year until positions are filled.

Advice for Securing a Full-Time Role:

  1. Networking:

    • Spend significant time networking. Building connections within the firms you're targeting can provide insights into their specific timelines and increase your chances of securing an interview.
  2. Application Strategy:

    • Apply early, especially for firms with rolling deadlines. The earlier you apply, the better your chances of securing a spot before positions are filled.
  3. Leverage Your PE Experience:

    • Highlight your experience at the PE firm. Even though it's not directly consulting, the skills and knowledge you've gained are highly relevant and can set you apart from other candidates.
  4. Prepare for Interviews:

    • Utilize resources like consulting case interview prep and resume reviews by professionals. Mock interviews can also be incredibly beneficial.

Additional Resources:

  • WSO Virtual Bootcamps: Consider joining bootcamps for interview preparation and skill enhancement.

Start doing your case prep now, MBB firms normally open their applications in July and are interviewing on a rolling basis through the summer.
