How can I beef up my resume before I am allowed to apply to McKinsey again?

Last year I had an interview at McKinsey Tokyo granted through a friend who works there. Although I passed their written exam, it was one of the first interviews of my life and it was in Japanese making it a bit difficult.

I had two interviews. I did alright on the one case study but for the case study with the senior member, I did horribly (A car manufacturer wants to do a point system like the airline point system, where can profit be made?) I butchered this case study.

Eventually they told me that my Japanese was not quite good enough (I think they were being polite) and they would like to see me re-apply in 2 years. One year has passed which means I have one more year until I can re-apply.

I have not done much in the past year besides what I had already been doing (SEO entrepreneurial work, my own company). I want to do something that is more consulting based so that I can show them that I am serious about working in the field.

I live at home now in Philadelphia, what do you suggest I can do to beef up my resume to show them I have done something to improve my situation in these two years? Also, does anyone know of a consulting coach who I could contact who would help me with the entire process (like getting a quick internship at a firm over the year, etc.)?

Thank you.
