How do you negotiate the first offer received? PwC Management Consulting

I was told by the recruiter that the team intends on offering me the position and will verbally offer it to me in the next few days. Everyone says don't take the first offer presented, so how do you negotiate? For PwC I have heard they don't negotiate base and performance bonus, but they will through singing bonus and relocation? Any advice? This is for an Experienced Associate position at PwC

I’m unaware of Big 4 consulting signing bonuses to compare to so I can’t give you specific advice there but if it seems low just reach back out and ask for a reasonable amount more and the same for a relocation bonus. If they really like you a few thousand more may be manageable. Also what I did for my current position was to reach out to the partner to negotiate not the internal recruiter.
