How to prepare for internship recruiting in the fall as a incoming transfer student

I am transferring this fall, and most of my extra curricular activities are from my previous school. I am going to try to get in and climb the ranks in clubs as fast as possible, but most selections for leadership positions happen at the end of the semester and some the year. I did have a lot of leadership at my pervious school, should I just list those until I get more?

Yeah you can absolutely have a section of your resume with your old school and you can keep your old extracurriculars on the resume. I’d recommend that. I think the best way to make up for the transferring disadvantage is just heavy networking, since you missed all those alumni networking events so far. Also feel free to reach out to alumni from your old school too. I’ve heard anecdotally that they’ll still answer your emails from a friend who transferred and did that.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll make sure to do that. Although, I don’t think there are many alumni from my pervious school if any from what I have seen searching on LinkedIn.
