Is so difficult for European to work in the USA after Graduation?
Dream: work for MBB (generalist, not tech team) in the USA.
Fact: I'm completing my Bachelor degree in Computer Science in Italy.
I think that the best way to break into Consulting is to join a top business school for a master.
I see two options:
1) Apply for a graduate programme in the USA. The cost is superior (comparated to European business schools) and my fear is that it would be difficult to obtain a visa to work there. If the visa wouldn't be a problem I think that I'll have much more chances to join a consulting firm in the USA with this option.
2) Apply for an European business school, join MBB and after a while, request a transfer to US office.
Does anyone see other options or has direct experience with visa in the USA?
Graduate programs in programs in the USA (that's aren't MBA programs) are a rip-off meant for international students. Get a job with MBB in Italy and transfer, it's by far the easier move. Sponsorships, visas, and all of that are a nightmare that companies don't want to hire you. There are enough qualified Americans that don't need to go through all of that, and your accented English is going to be a negative in interviews (Americans are snobby about that, despite speaking no foreign languages themselves).
Also, work culture in the US is awful- that's why I left the US. They expect weekend work, they're arrogant, the projects are not different in scope than Europe, the cost of living is obscene, little to no vacation (and you're judged for taking any vacation), it's expensive to travel in the US, and are so "woke" it's laughable. I worked for MBB in Europe and the culture is simply superior; having an American manager or team member was a nightmare.
US is a great place to visit, not to live. But if you're set on it, go through a transfer program with your company, since visas are incredible difficult to get.
I’m sorry but why would you want to come to the USA and work 3x the amount?
Your housing and life is much simpler in Europe.
Depending on how good your uni is, you shouldn’t have a problem coming to the USA at some point
I think USA is the land of opportunities if you are ready for hard working
