laptops

Hello everyone,
I'm in my last year of uni, and getting ready for a job in either IB/consulting/CF...
Just wanted to ask you if using a macbook hinders your ability to model quickly on excel. I have a lot of trouble using the different shortcuts on my mac, so I'm considering getting a pc more suited for the job. What do you think?

A lot of people dual boot (run OS x and windows) or use virtual machines to run windows on Mac Computers. I personally like Parallels and it does the job fine. Would recommend external keyboard though.

If you think a PC will help with classwork or is something you'd enjoy personally, definitely make that purchase. However, most employers (at least in consulting) will send you a work laptop before starting which is generally a PC, so no harm in holding onto that Mac.

And to answer your initial question: Yes, it's day and night using the operating system of a Mac vs. PC for work, especially in Excel.
