MBB partner comp
How much do junior partners, run of the mill partners, and senior partners (MBB) make when you normalize for sales skills. I know the answer depends I just need an answer. PE is the fucking worst I am desperate to go back.

Everything I have seen online (fishbowl, random article, etc) has been pretty black box so it would be interesting if any MBB folks had any insights.
If you went consulting to PE though, wouldn't you already have some perspective?
Not exactly what you were asking , but there was a discussion related to this on net worths not to long ago that you may find helpful

Probably on average high six figures and low seven figures. Can't imagine anyone thinking of such a sum of money and thinking that it's low and won't grant them the lifestyle they want. So if you want to leave PE and enjoy consulting as a career I'd go for it. Money is great in absolute terms.
That said, there are extremes that can make very high 7 figures and some that make lower six figures but if you're talking about "senior partner" you've already been filtered as a partner and have to be some of the best of the best, so lower end of the spectrum prob less frequent
Not 100% sure as I'm only a 3rd-year at MBB (my title is fked up), but I believe the first-year average comp is ~$800k in a normal (read: non-COVID) year
Yes - the above posts are accurate based on the convos I have had. Generally you can expect high 6 / low 7. But of course there are exceptions.
Low six figures is impossible I think. Minimum for the worst performers with little partner tenure should be prob. 6000 - 700 k. But those guys are on the out-track anyway.
This could be the most WSO post ever, and that's saying something. Sticking with a job/industry you are miserable in because you're worried that you might end up in the 0.3% instead of the 0.1%.....
Also, 1st year Associate in PE - LBOs, are you sure you can even make partner? These things aren't guaranteed and should not sway your career decisions. Pick what you like, and if you are passionate and work hard, you will get there. If you just care about the money then it's not gonna work for you homie
Pretty sure. I liked and was good at consulting.
How did you view travel in your time as a consultant? Was it something that intruded on your personal life?
"Pretty sure". Making partner is extremely difficult, especially at MBB. You cannot go back to consulting under that assumption.
This is stupid . Work where you think you’ll perform best and the money will follow the performance . I think the obvious answer is “more than enough”, so spend your time preparing or doing anything else really .
