Hey guys, I'm currently a junior with a strong IBD internship lined up for the summer (GS/MS). I'm graduating a semester early next year, so this frees up time for me from January-May before FT starts. I am trying to get a referral from a partner at an MBB through a family connection and was asked to send my resume around October for a potential off-cycle internship around Jan-April. I was wondering if any of you guys had any insight into off-cycle internships, what kind of work these interns would be given, or what the screening/interview process is like (even for relationship hires). Would this be possible? Any advice/help with my game-plan would be greatly appreciated.

rare - off cycle internships are hardly offered
Yes, I've known of people who interned at McKinsey off-cycle; the students were from Dartmouth (used the D-plan).
What about sophomores? Do you know any sophomores who interned with McKinsey?
I know McKinsey used to participate in an off-cycle internship program with some schools, but I don't think they do that anymore.
