McKinsey Office Amenities

Which offices have the nicest digs? I'm assuming the big ones would have an advantage here, but between NY/NJ, Chicago, SF/Silicon Valley who has a gym, gourmet cafeteria, etc. And info about other non-firm standard perks would be great too.

Is this really a topic?

Actually, you are going to be sitting Indian style (naked) on a cold marble floor in one large circle with only an ipad, suitcase packed with no wrinkle shirts/pants and a BB to cover your nut sack – which you better pray doesn’t stick to the cold marble because at any given time you will be flying to Tuscaloosa to make pretty flow charts / swot analysis.

Come on bro, it’s McKinsey, you aren’t going to be working in a shithole.

Yeah but what kind of marble is the floor? Is it prestigious marble? What are the exit opps from the marble?

yeah they give massages because the consultants backs hurt from sleeping on box springs @ the Best Western in Des Moines

so far what I've gotten out of this thread is that no consultants are on WSO and a few non-so-creative insults i'll stick to asking questions about when to send thank you cards after interviews and how much first year analysts make, because those topics are so much less stupid and a waste of time

And I have learned that you must pound the post button like a cracked out street whore looking for her next hit

so far what I have gotten from this thread is that you are a douche that cannot take a joke, relax you consultant. Don't be mad because you are doing potato analysis in Idaho

monkeyc, MBB offices are pretty much all the same everywhere. At my firm we piss and moan about various locations being better or worse than others but these are pretty marginal differences - how recently one office was renovated vs. another. And let me promise you that none of the perks at any MBB office are anywhere near Google's perks - you may or may not see free lunch the one day a week you spend in the office, but you most definitely will see the client site four days of every five.

(finance bros, continue with the insults - I definitely got a few laughs on this thread)

I've been to Googleplex. Place is sick. 19 cafeterias. Ate me a Kobe-burger for lunch. They've got Mexican coke, free red bull, odwalla, whatever.

looking for that pick-me-up to power through an all-nighter?

2x2MatrixJimmyDormandy, that was actually funny. Analystforhire, that's just mean-spirited and unnecessary.

I've never heard of an MBB office with an on-site gym or an especially sick cafeteria. For the ones in big cities at least, they don't own the whole building, unlike, say, Goldman Sachs, where the entire building is dedicated to Goldman employee use, so they're not going to dedicate a lot of space to that stuff. A friend who interviewed at McKinsey Toronto came back blown away, but I've never been to an MBB office that was significantly better or worse than the rest of them.

They're all nice, though. The nicest office I've ever been in was of a V5 law firm, if that means anything to you, but the MBB offices I've been to don't lose by that much.

bain ny has an onsite gym.

Nice offices are critical, it's true... you need to have a nice office so that you feel prestigious in the morning and have the motivation to bust ass.

Sick office I was at a few months ago: Canyon Capital in L.A.... super, super nice building.... hot model type bitches all over the place in the lobby (CAA is also located in the building)

why is monkey shit being thrown here? You ask a stupid question, you're bound to get some smart ass replies
