"ACN MC doesn't do strategy either (save for the MBAs)" - Not quite true. Obviously the pure strategy work is very low, limited, etc. But MBAs are coming in at Consultant level for whatever strategy work they are doing. The team needs analysts as well, which is where entry level hires come in. MCDP as a whole covers strategy, operations, talent, etc. Even though most analysts want to do strategy for obvious reasons, it's still a rotation and chances are you won't do only one during your 2-3 years (unless someone loves you and goes out of their way to staff you).

As far operations goes, the work is lot more implementation (as in actually doing cost reduction or designing distribution network with actual locations) than just whipping out a 40 slide deck over 2 weeks. Even if there is initial strategy, its always followed by implementation. ACN, ATK, McK, E&Y all seem to compete on the same work depending on different specializations.

Friend ended up signing at ACN MC. Originally he was really reluctant to take their summer offer after reading about the stuff on this website. However he really enjoyed the work/his team and decided to return. He mentioned that the ACN MC summer intern class was filled with top caliber kids.

Obviously the summer class may not be an indication of the full time class and with PwC's acquisition of Booz, I'd take a risk and go with PwC hoping that it becomes as "prestigious" as Deloitte S&O one day.

Can anyone else comment of strength of the Accenture brand or the type of operations & supply chain type of work the firm does?
