I know a guy who started a practice there and is looking for people, but don’t know anything about deal flow besides one he told me about last year.

As general commentary, the restructuring community in the West Coast is relatively small vs NYC, Chicago, etc, let alone SF.
But, I'm sure there's a number of boutiques out there if you do some internet searching.

Ankura has an office out in SF - not sure where the restructuring group is based
No RX out of SF at Ankura, unfortunately. RX is mainly NYC, Chi, & Dallas with a handful of senior folks scattered about the States.
Ducera recently opened an office in SF - although I believe it'll be doing mainly M&A work and not Rx.
I would not recommend this
if you want to be in restructuring you go to Chicago, nyc, maybe Atlanta. They have big industrials that always need restructuring or turnaround and real assets to lend against
the west coast is mostly about sass tech right now. And they usually are growthy and don’t need restructuring. Failed tech companies just go bankrupt
there of course is always some work on legacy hardware and infra .. but really if you want to be in the Bay Area then I’d plan my career around product led growth or sales
