Should I double major in sociology and business or philosophy and business?
Hello, I am a freshman in business college. I am considering consulting/adjacent careers and I want to add a major onto my business major (finance). What should I add? Philosophy or sociology, or even classics?
Do whatever you’re most interested in. No one sifting through resumes will think twice if you chose philosophy over psychology over anthropology.
What matters the most is that you do well in school and get involved in extracurriculars. Especially as a freshman, it’s more important that you study subjects you’re passionate about and it will also get you a lot further than trying to follow a set path. Good on you for thinking about it this early.

If you like all 3, go ahead and take the intro classes and start to see which ones you like more. If you want to put in the hours for all of them, by all means. Just don't feel the pressure to do it for the flawed reasoning of "it makes you more appealing."

Honestly, I don't think it matters, like at all. I was in a sort of similar situation where I wanted to add either Poli Sci or Cultural Studies (focused on a specific region) to my Financial Econ major. No one cared, people just asked why and where mildly impressed I had a double major at my school. But I think as long as you can explain why you chose that major combination if they ask your fine.
