Starting at a tiny firm
I had a tough recruiting cycle and on top of the recruiting pain, I had a problem with my university performance. I am putting things together but I still need time. I have an opportunity to join a tiny consulting company (I'm based in a Western European country) as an intern for 4-6 months. The company is specialised in real estate and tourism and also has investment projects as well. The company is also pretty international and works with big clients despite being pretty tiny.
Now that I think about it, I think it's better to sort of "keep my feet on the ground" for the first few months after graduation. But I'm just a bit curious how that will look like in the grand scheme of things. I ultimately want to be at MBB, and my school has a solid network there. This company, being very small and new, doesn't have a pipeline for MBB, but some T2. I will have completed my degree by the end of the internship, and will have my grades improved greatly.
I had several calls with people from MBB, and I'm still in touch with them. I can ask for a referral and hopefully land one. But for now, my plan is to enter this company to get a bit of experience and maybe wait for the economy to cool down (if it ever will).
Thoughts?
Hi Rachel Goswell, no, I never sleep and so I can respond to any lonely threads (like this one) at all hours of the night. Impressive, I know ;-)
More suggestions...
Hope that helps.
