Summer 2026 Recruiting Timeline?

Could someone direct me to timeline by months for the recruiting process. For example these months u should network, study cases, this month applications open, this month first rounds, etc. I'm currently involved in ib recruiting as well and figuring out how to balance the two

Yeah managing ib and consulting recruiting is rough I also did that and this is what I'd recommend.

Jan-March: too late for ib networking but can try, ib technicals, ib applications. start consulting recruiting in feb if ib is looking shit.

March-May: heavy consulting networking - reach out to more firms than you think you need. continue ib applications.

May-July: heavy case prep, re-connect with march network in june-july + network with more senior employees (hopefully with referral)

July-September: consulting applications, email networks about you applying, potentially look into economic consulting if mgmt consulting is looking shit.

(August maybe) - September: ib applications re-open for some firms so get back in touch in August and apply September. (note: hard to predict which ones will open but can email network and ask if they will)

post-september: continue ib, mgmt consulting applications. econ consulting applications will open around sept-oct so even starting networking for this in sept is fine

Tip: keep a really good comprehensive networking tracker - it will change the game

Also a lot of people applying IB to BBs also apply for their wealth management practices so that's a good option to keep open I think timeline is about the same.

PE applications are the same as IB but I don't think they re-open in August/September
