Any Insights? - Investment Analyst / Corporate Development for Large Asian Holding Companies

hey all,

I am getting headhunted by a few large holding companies based in Asia (representative examples: Fosun, COFCO, Mitsubishi, Dalian Wanda, Tata Group, Itochu, Marubeni, etc.) for internal M&A roles which are essentially corporate development functions for these HoldCos, making large strategic investments on behalf of these companies internally. It appears that the Asian HoldCos want to make investments here in the US. Moreover, I would be based out of the US in NYC.

Does the WSO community have any insights? From what I've been told, the starting salary is pretty darn good (~$125k as a first year associate, bonuses are there but not sure how high). Seems like PE money and the job does have a PE feel to it (maybe not the exiting investments aspect).

Any thoughts, experiences? Would this be good experience post 2 years of IBD? Personally, I am not too fond of the Asian companies and their work environments and cultures, but the pay appears pretty good and it might be good investing exposure prior to b-school (I would like to go to business school in 2-3 years)

Excuse my poor grammar/spelling mistakes/etc. in advance...
