CVS FLDP good for top MBA?
I just started a 2 year long FLDP with CVS Health. Was wondering if anyone knows if this will look good towards a T10 MBA. It is a Fortune 5 company so not sure if that adds any prestige.
Any FLDP from a top company will set you up well for an MBA, but it is only one factor. For T10 you will also need a great GMAT score, good recs, etc. Additionally, if you are starting this program right out of college then you will not have the work experience to apply for an MBA right out of the gate. So you will need to show progression post FLDP as well.
Long story short, this program will look good to MBA recruiters and will definitely check one of many boxes they look for.
Thanks for the feedback. Yes I plan on applying around the 5-6 year mark. By then I’ll hopefully have a few promotions following the standard track. I’m just starting to plan.
Also in terms of recommendations, who should I be focusing on getting them from?

When I think of recommendations I think of a few options depending on how many they ask for: 1) Your current manager at the time you apply - obviously the person who will be able to speak best to your accomplishments and strengths. 2) Any senior executive at your current company - if you hit it off with the CFO, division leader, etc. and they will recommend you that will go a long way. 3) FLDP Leader - depending on if you are still at CVS, a good rec could also be whoever is in charge of the FLDP program. They could speak to you being a standout member. 4) Alumni - If you connect with any Alumni from a school you are interested in over the next ~5 years they can be an option as well. Even better if they also fall into one of the above three categories.
One caveat to this - make sure the people you ask can speak to your work ethic and have actually worked with you directly.
Each cohort is 25+ people (multiply that by 3) so the FLDP Leader probably might not know you well enough to write your recommendation.
5-6 years will put you in line with what top programs are looking for so you are "on the money" there
I asked my current rotation manager at the time (applied during my final rotation) and an executive I worked with during my second rotation.
Most MBA programs only require two letters of recommendation I believe, so just use your current manager and your previous manager.
You applied during your final year of the FLDP? Isn't 2 years of experience a little too low for these MBA programs?
Correct, it was at the very tail-end of the rotation. I may not have finished the application until after I graduated though because I had to retake the GMAT in order to get admitted. Upon the completion of my application, I had about 3.5 years of experience (I started six months earlier than most of my FLDP class). I applied during Round 4 (the last round) and wasn't admitted until the summer.
