FLDP Program Recruiting Timeline?
I am looking to apply to fldps this year and have not been able to find out when they start recruiting. Are they on the same timeline as banks or are they later in the year?

Career Resources
Interested in this as well.
I'm currently in an FLDP at a F100 aerospace & defense company, and we will be attending career fairs through the month of September, and then hosting 2nd rounds in late September/early October, and final rounds in late October. Offers go out in the very beginning of November. If you don't have on-campus recruiting, you should start contacting people at these companies now and look daily for open reqs on their websites. That's how I got in- I showed the initiative to contact them before they started the OCR and had a bunch of viable candidates they were looking at.
Who exactly did you contact?
I was lucky enough to find a brochure with the email address of the program director. And I was also lucky enough that she responded to me and gave me an informational phone call. I couldn't find any other contacts like that, through their direct email addresses. I'd recommend using linkedin to reach out to people currently in the FLDP, through either linkedin messages, or using their name to guess their email address (find the format, like [email protected]). Or, if you're really hungry, call the main line of the company and ask for the name of the person who runs the FLDP, and then ask for their email (or to talk to them). F500 companies are pretty laid back and I'm sure they'd give it to you.
I'm in a F100 FLDP as well. We typically recruit on campus during the fall like other firms. For interns into the program, we do one interview and give offers usually September. For full time hires, on campus interviews in September then a 2nd round at HQ in October with an offer following it.
I don't have OCR for this at my school. Do they accept online applications as well? And how bad are chances through that method?
If you only drop your resume on line, your chances are going to be really low. I would do all in your power to get on the phone with someone in the program, or to get the email address of someone in the program and contact them directly. Otherwise, they're going to want to go with the people they've met through OCR
As the other guy said, simply applying online will never be enough. You're at a disadvantage from the start. Find who the recruiter is for a company you're interested in, and network hard. It's not impossible by any means. We typically have 20~ interns, and always about 1-3 are from no name schools that talked their way in.
Most on campus interviews will be in september/october. However, a lot of programs will interview/give out offers into november. Totally dependent on the company, but it is not as accelerated as banking recruiting.
FLDP Start Date/Recruiting Question (Originally Posted: 08/04/2014)
I plan on graduating December 2015 with a double major and minor. I know most fldps seem to recruit interns/FT in the fall but do they have "classes" that all start the program together in the summer or are most pretty flexible about hiring december grads?
Basically I want to get another solid internship/raise my GPA for FT but don't want a december graduation date to deter FLDP recruiters. I think big 4 are pretty flexible about start dates but wasn't sure since FLDP are more of a "program".
I can only speak to my experience, but I also graduated in December and the FLDP I did had two classes - one starting in Feb, the other starting in August to accomodate both Dec and May grads. The class sizes are much smaller in the Feb class, though.
thanks +1. did you find that having a december grad date limited you in general for FT? or is having a double major worth it (will be accounting/finance with minor in international business and internship this summer is in CF at international HQ). otherwise i'd graduate this may with just finance or accounting.
does anyone else have knowledge of this as far as recruiting/start dates go?
I've heard of companies with December starts, but not many. Of course I haven't gone looking for that, so it might just be better to ask. If you're worried about asking outright, try sending an anonymous email to their HR dept
thanks for the suggestion.. i'm going to start doing that for the programs I'm most interested in.
+1
