How to answer why are you interested in this team (corporate bonds) in interviews?

Hi, I will soon be graduating with a degree in economics. I don't have much of a background in finance, except one quant internship that I did, but I worked with equities during that internship. I have extensive technical experience. I am interviewing for a fintech role (not going into details due to privacy concerns).

The role will be with the corporate bonds team, within fixed income. However, I don't have experience working with this before, except perhaps a course on financial institutions and markets that brushed over this. So, how do I answer why are you interested in working with this team, during the interview?

I am interested in working with this company, that is for sure. Also I do find fixed income interesting enough to want to pursue a career in it. But I'm very much a story-teller kind of a person. I like having proper reasons for my answers for behavioural questions, that ties into my personal experiences. But in this case, I don't have any personal experience in fixed income to know how to answer this. Can someone please help me in figuring out how to answer this particular question? Can I somehow tie in the evergrande crisis into my answer, talking about how interesting the repercussions of default of corporate bonds can have global economy (in a speculative sense, also, please correct me if I'm wrong in saying this)? Or something like that? Or do I make something up? I'm just spitballing here.
