How to prepare for a corporate banking analyst interview?
Im a rising sophomore majoring in accounting and finance. I go to a non-target.
I recently got an interview offer for TD's corporate and speciality banking through ModernGuild. The program is for a summer 2019 analyst position.
Since the interview is in a week, I want to know what I should study. What do you think?
I just started as a FT corporate banking analyst three weeks ago and did several CB interviews over the last couple months. CB interviews tend to focus more on fit and interest in the role. As such, you should spend most of your time researching the role, search the forums. You need to be able to articulate why you're interested in the CB specifically - I was asked on multiple occasions why CB over IB. Technicals wise, you should focus on reviewing basic accounting, you can expect questions like how the three statements flow together, how a change in accounts receivable impacts the 3 statements etc. Also, learn about credit analysis - what makes a borrower risky (leverage, coverage, cash flow stability, collateral). Feel free to PM with any questions and good luck.
Corporate Banking Interview Tomorrow (Originally Posted: 09/05/2018)
So long story short, I live in Alberta and go to a non target school. I got a call this morning for a phone interview with Citi for a FT corporate banking analyst position. Would anyone have any tips or advice for the interview? Since it’s just a phone interview would it mostly be behavioural? I have 8 months of corporte banking internship experience so maybe they would ask technical questions? It’s only 30 mins.
Also, I doubt it would be a big deal for people on this forum since it’s not IB in NYC but how prestigious would it be to work at citi which is a BB in corporate banking in Calgary? I feel like that’s pretty good for an Alberta kid?
Thanks!
Hey CanadianPipeDream, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your thread! Bummer...could just be time of day or unlucky (or the question/topci is too vague or too specific). Maybe one of these topics will help:
Or maybe the following pros can chime in... Anton Baida @wss3" jrjaek
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...

I have an upcoming interview for an Debt Side Underwriting Analyst. The job is for a recent grad, which I am, but I do not have any experience on the debt side. How should I prepare?
