Credit Analyst Career Path

Hi all. I work as a credit analyst at a bank and I have a question. I perform credit analysis on banks with trading products.

I'd like to work with loans, but it seems that the analysis in that area is minimal. I’ve thought about going into private credit but I know the work involves direct lending instead of trading. Would my current role still be useful for this?

bump. I'm in a similar situation as you now. Transitioning to PC seems to be a bit difficult for me as my current role does not involve modelling at all. Therefore, I believe it takes a lot of efforts to sharpen our skills in modelling as the first step.
