Direct Lending Investor Relations
I have an IR interview with a MF Direct Lender this week. What type of interview questions should I expect?
For background, I’m at a BB and have some decent experience arranging HY bonds and loans for MM infrastructure companies. I’ve never interviewed for an IR role and am unsure on how to prepare.
Thanks!
Not familiar with a direct-lending specific IR role but assuming it’s for an Associate role you’ll likely face more of the qualitative type questions (e.g. why IR, why direct lending, why a MF vs MM/LMM). Wouldn’t expect anything too technically challenging given that you already have DL experience and can probably speak intelligently about that asset class.
You might see a short (~1 hour) case study that has you analyze anonymized portfolio company data and give some high-level overview on trends/what you see.
